February 8, 2010 ‐ Dallas ‐ NewWorld.com today announced the appointment of Joe Garagiola, Jr., as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Garagiola is Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations for Major League Baseball, and has been a member of NewWorld's Board of Directors since January 2007.

Mr. Garagiola, Jr., holds the distinction of assembling the fastest World Series winner in expansion baseball history, with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He fine‐tuned a club that had finished 12 games out of the hunt in 2000 after winning 100 games and the National League West Division Championship the year before.

Garagiola’s effort was congratulated by the highest of powers when President George W. Bush invited the organization to the White House on December 13, 2001. During the course of the visit, the President couldn't resist bringing up a comparison between himself and Joe Jr. stating, “I've always been suspicious of guys who have a famous father,” referring in jest to his own father the former President and Joe’s dad who made a name for himself both on and off the field.

Mr. Garagiola, Jr., graduated from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, earning a B.A. cum laude in 1972 and earned a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., 1975).
