With New World Preview complete, we are in awe of the support, encouragement, and excitement you have shown. Starting August 25th, all Beta signups on newworld.com through July 9th, all pre-orders, and all Alpha testers in good standing will be invited to join us in Aeternum for a playtest of New World.
In preparation for New World Preview, we will need the community’s help in preparing our servers to ensure stability at scale. A Density Test will be hosted on our US server beginning on Thursday, 7/30/2020. Come help ensure the servers are ready for New World Preview. Please note that the Density Test will be under NDA.
For this Density Test, we will be inviting all Alpha Testers, everyone who pre-ordered on or before July 26th and a random selection of Beta sign ups received on or before July 9th to join in and play alongside the New World team. Due to the need to have a large wave of players in the game at the same time, we will begin rolling out Density Test invites a few days prior to the start of 7/30/2020 at 2:00 PM PT. While the Density Test may only run for a short window of time, it is a critical piece of our preparation for New World Preview, and your help is very important.
Technical Details and Troubleshooting:
Steam Pre-Orders did not need to receive a key to access the test. The game was added to the Steam Game Library automatically as “New World Confidential Test.” If you do not see it, log out, close Steam fully, and log back in to refresh. It may appear under the uncategorized games list.
Amazon Pre-Orders received an e-mail with a Steam key and details on how to access the test. You may have also received an Alpha invite between December, 2019 and now, which would act as your Steam Key for this if you didn't register it when it was received. Be sure to check Spam and Promotions folders, or folder you automatically send all Amazon emails to.
Alpha Players (who played through Steam in the past) were granted automatic access and received an e-mail with details for access to the test, but like Steam pre-order customers, the game was added to the Steam Game Library automatically as “New World Confidential Test.” If you do not see it, log out and close Steam fully, and log back in to refresh. It may appear under the uncategorized games list.
Select Beta Sign Ups received an e-mail with a Steam key and details for access to the test. Be sure to check Spam and Promotions folders, or folder you automatically send all Amazon emails to.
Please note: If you purchased multiple copies of the game, you may have only received one code. Please submit a trouble ticket in this instance.
We apologize in advance if we are not able to solve your issue before the end of the density test. Please know that we are doing all we can, and will ensure that you are set for the New World Preview week beginning August 25th.
While you will be able to log in and play any time during this Density Test, we have a few specific windows of time we ask that everyone log in and play if possible. This will help us collect critical test data.
